What you will do Serve as the technical leader on the business team by:

Mentoring less experienced engineers on design practices, unit health monitoring, and troubleshooting

Provide off‑hours support of abnormal and non‑routine operations, including unit Turnarounds

Aiding in the development of long‑term vision and strategy for product line improvements

Organizing and designing plant testing and product trials

Serve as a senior resource either serving as or working with supervisors on the team to set clear objectives, and ensure priorities are aligned for the technical team

Influence others and drive toward solutions without direct authority

Work in a team environment with other engineering disciplines, operations, and mechanical personnel and interface with corporate technology support

Ability to interface with 3rd party vendors (cost optimizations as well as developing/driving solutions)

Serve as process safety resource on business team leading Hazard and Operability Reviews (HAZOPs) and Risk Assessments by developing closure plans and strategies for identified risks

Lead/support incident investigations as technical lead

Provide support for developing and implementing various capital projects to drive margin or mitigate SHE risk

Provide assistance in the field during plant startups, shutdowns or upsets

Demonstrating courage of conviction to drive healthy tension for both business team and corporate technology support to promote fit for purpose outcome

About you Skills and Qualifications

Chemical Engineering

10+ years of experience in Chemical Engineering plant with technical fuels/ chemicals manufacturing roles.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

Process design experience

Familiarity with advanced control strategies/optimization software

Working knowledge of RBI practices (corrosion damage mechanisms/mitigations, saltation, etc)

Risk assessment and HAZOP experience

Understanding of safety relief limits (modelling and evaluations)

Demonstrated understanding of modelling software (PROII, ASPEN, etc)

Kinetic Modelling (SOL, KBC Profimatics, etc)

The expected annual salary range for this position is $140,000 - $160,000. Individual pay will be determined based on various factors, which may include skills, abilities, qualifications, work experience, and education.

Pension Plan: Enrollment is automatic and at no cost to you. The basic benefit is a monthly annuity to be paid to you in retirement for the rest of your life

Savings Plan: You can contribute between 6% and 20% of your pay and are encouraged to enroll right away. If you contribute at least 6% to your savings plan, the Company will contribute a 7% match
