Compensation: $16.90/hr
PURPOSE
Janitor is responsible for cleaning buildings, removing debris, and keeping areas neat and tidy. Vacuums and buffs floors, shampoos carpets, empty trash receptacles, and replace lining of trash cans.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Clean and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc)
Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
Make adjustments and minor repairs
Stock and maintain supply rooms
Cooperate with the rest of the staff
Committed to holding the upmost safety and sanitation standards
Perform other duties/tasks/projects assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Ability to observe safety and security procedures and to comply with policies
Ability to read and interpret written information; ability to write clear statements; ability to communicate orally
Must be able to do physical work and operate power equipment normally found in janitorial operations
Ability to follow schedules and keep commitments
Ability to follow directions from a supervisor
Ability to demonstrate professionalism
Must be able to manage time efficiently and to work individually as well as within a team
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work indoors and/or outdoors, exposed to hot and/or cold surfaces, steam, and wet floors Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, crowds and smoke, the severity of which depends upon guest volume Fast paced, high volume, full service restaurant Work varied shifts to include days, nights, weekends and holidays
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to walk long periods of time
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Ability to repeat the same movements for long periods of time
Ability to understand the speech of another person
Ability to speak clearly so listeners can understand
Ability to push and lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
