Job Description
Steel Fabrication company in South Seattle seeks a hardworking, dependable lead fitter/fabricator. This is not an entry level position. Applicant must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a fitter, not a welder. Our company works exclusively in hot-rolled steel, specializing in structural work. Our scope of work includes structural beams and columns, canopies, stairs, embeds, and handrail.
Applicant must possess the following:
WABO D1.1 FCAW certification.
WABO D1.1 GMAW certification (preferable but not necessary).
Ability to read and comprehend steel fabrication drawings.
Ability to perform layout on a large scale: fitting steel beams and columns with great accuracy
Ability to perform multi-pass, structural welds.
Understanding of Pre-Qualified welding procedures.
Understand and comply with supervisors’ direction and company safety policies.
Work reasonably and safely with other welders/fitters in the company.
Proficient with ironworking tools and equipment: oxy-fuel torches, plasma cutter, grinders, bandsaws, ironworker, notchers, presses, drills, taps, pneumatic tools, overhead cranes, rigging, forklifts, etc.…
Be available from 6am-2:30pm, 5 days a week.
Have reliable transportation to the Seattle Area
