Job Details We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic team. This role will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of heavy‑duty construction equipment, including loaders, cranes, excavators, haul trucks, and dozers. The successful candidate will be a vital part of our operations, ensuring that our fleet of machinery is always in optimal condition and ready for use. Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment to ensure optimal functionality and longevity. This includes oil changes, filter replacements, and general tune‑ups.
Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with heavy equipment, including engine failures, hydraulic system malfunctions, and other major operational problems.
Conduct thorough inspections of equipment to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
Operate a variety of hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment, to perform repairs and maintenance.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and time spent.
Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including OSHA and MSHA standards.
Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to service calls and ensuring that all repairs are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to stay current with industry trends and advancements.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, with a focus on loaders, cranes, excavators, haul trucks, and dozers.
Extensive knowledge of heavy equipment operation, maintenance, and repair techniques.
Proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
Solid understanding of OSHA and MSHA safety regulations and procedures.
Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex mechanical issues in clear, understandable terms.
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent; post‑secondary training in heavy equipment repair or a related field is preferred.
Certification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or equivalent is a plus.
