Position Summary The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting in all aspects of developing and advancing a competitive football program in the Big Sky Conference. This includes, but is not limited to: coaching, recruiting, counseling student‑athletes; managing daily administrative duties of the program; fundraising and public relations; adhering to all rules and regulations of the university, NCAA, and Big Sky Conference.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum three years collegiate coaching/collegiate competition.

Demonstrate excellent professional/interpersonal communication skills.

Demonstrate a commitment to the total welfare of student‑athletes.

Demonstrate a commitment to developing a successful Division I football program both academically and athletically.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree with five years collegiate coaching experience and/or NFL coaching experience.

Create an environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates differences.

Function and communicate effectively and respectfully within the context of varying beliefs, behaviors, orientations, identities, and cultural backgrounds.

Seek opportunities to gain experience working and collaborating in diverse, multicultural, and inclusive settings with a willingness to change for continual improvement.

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity. The starting annual salary for this position will be between $65,100 – $75,686 but may be negotiated above this rate dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
