Denver Parks and Recreation’s Golf Division is looking to hire a motivated Second Assistant Superintendent/Irrigation Technician to join our team at Wellshire Golf Course. This role supports daily course operations, including irrigation system maintenance and assisting with the supervision of the maintenance team.
Specifically, as a Second Assistant Superintendent/Irrigation Technician for Wellshire Golf Course you will:
At times direct, train, and supervise seasonal course staff and be the go-to full time staff for all course maintenance and communication
Assist with fertilizer and chemical applications
Perform irrigation system maintenance
Monitor and troubleshoot irrigation system issues as they arise
Read irrigation drawings and performs construction and maintenance/repair and replacement of broken parts on various equipment including pipes, sprinklers, hoses, and more
Research, introduce, and execute sustainable irrigation practices at the course
Participate in other course maintenance responsibilities including mowing, snow removal, supervision, customer communication, and coordination with the Golf Pro Shop
Operate and maintain various lightweight vehicles and equipment
Wellshire Golf Course is looking for a confident, team-oriented person to join their team. Our ideal candidate will be savvy at identifying and resolving equipment malfunctions, will be an adept problem solver, and is willing to learn new trades and skills to support operations. Our ideal candidate will be comfortable working in all weather conditions, not afraid to jump in when needed, and will be comfortable interacting with a diverse team of coworkers, as well as with the public.
