Senior Accountant
to play a key role on a collaborative and high-performing team based in
Birmingham, AL . This role offers meaningful exposure to financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and property and lease accounting within a complex, fast-moving organization. As a Senior Accountant, you'll support internal stakeholders and external auditors while contributing to the integrity, transparency, and optimization of core financial operations. Key Highlights
Competitive base salary of
$120,000–$125,000 15% performance bonus 6% 401(k) match

in-office 4 days per week Team of 9 seasoned professionals in a supportive and collaborative environment Key Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries and ensure timely, accurate month-end close Complete account reconciliations with proper documentation and resolve discrepancies proactively Support external audits and regulatory reporting with organized, audit-ready records Analyze accruals, deferred items, cash flow, and other key financial metrics Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce operational friction Maintain compliance with GAAP, SOX 404, SEC guidelines, and FERC accounting standards Collaborate with departments across multiple geographic locations Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
in Accounting or related field (required) CPA
or active CPA candidate (highly preferred) 5–7+ years
of general accounting experience, ideally including financial reporting and statement preparation Experience in
property or lease accounting Familiarity with
regulated industries
such as energy, utilities, telecom, or public infrastructure Strong command of
GAAP , SEC regulations, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Advanced proficiency in
Microsoft Excel
and financial systems Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills Self-starter with intellectual curiosity and a commitment to continuous improvement Preferred Experience
Prior experience at a
public accounting firm (Big 4 or mid-tier) Exposure to
FERC compliance
or accounting for regulated entities Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline About the Opportunity
