Overview
Regional Engineering is seeking to recruit an Engineering Supervisor to join its Management Team. The successful candidate must be energetic and demonstrate an unwavering commitment to our Code of Conduct and The Way We Work. Must demonstrate a high energy level and promote a positive work ethic and customer service mentality in support of our corporate values and mission. Experience with distribution electrical equipment is preferred. Candidate must demonstrate leadership ability, computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required, must have good written and oral communication skills as well as good organizational skills. The candidate must also be detail oriented and be able to be flexible in handling multiple assignments and deadlines as required. Additionally, the candidate must have a strong analytical, technical and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities Core Responsibilities
Perform safety talks, OJTs, and ensures implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for subordinates.
Ensure safe work practices and environmental considerations are followed in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations.
Supervise designers and other subordinate titled personnel in the design, reinforcement and expansion of the electrical distribution system
Provide instruction and guidance in the development of construction layouts, service determinations, system reinforcement and reliability upgrades, system performance analysis, power quality analysis, asset replacement and maintenance, and system interference projects all within compliance of operating procedures, engineering specifications and company policies.
Review and approve distribution system layouts, before & after sketches, and feeder maps to ensure compliance with operating procedures, engineering specifications and company policies.
Direct preparation of appropriations for project funding related to major projects.
Review progress of various projects to ensure completion within required timeframe and budget.
Direct and track the activities required to update all distribution maps including M&S plates, C&DO plates, and feeder prints within required timeframes.
Enforce good housekeeping practices and ensures subordinates work activities are performed in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Ensure timely and professional progress and completion of various projects.
Plan, organize, schedule and assign work activities to personnel to meet operational needs, customer service requirements and departmental goals.
Ensure that technical and customer excellence are of highest priorities when developing distribution system solutions.
Assess subordinate training needs and address as required.
Responsible for on-going evaluation of employee performance to ensure adherence to Company design specifications, and that employees meet or exceed productivity expectations.
Promote consistency in work practices within team and department.
Provide individual and supervisory engineering support during distribution system contingency.
Provide off hour and weekend support in the event of storms, system contingencies, or customer outages.
Represent the company at meetings with customers, contractors, governmental officials, consulting engineers, lawyers and other company personnel regarding the electric distribution system.
Ensure compliance with collective bargaining contract and participates in union negotiations at the first line supervisor level.
Able and willing to travel within Company service territory as needed.
Perform other tasks and assignments as required.
Qualifications Required Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree and Must have 2 years of relevant work experience or
Associate's Degree and Must have 4 years of relevant work eperience or
High School Diploma/GED and Must have 5 years and relevant work experience
Relevant Work Experience
Experience with distribution electrical equipment Preferred
Supervisory Experience Preferred
Understanding of the Work Management System and Logica software Preferred
Distribution Engineering experience including distribution design, computerized layout design, company mapping systems, cost estimating, budget preparation and PVL
Preferred
Knowledge of Electric Operations, which includes equipment, cable and splicing, associated with underground and/or overhead installation and associated construction standards Preferred
Skills and Abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.
Demonstrated analytical skills
Possesses strong technical aptitude
Licenses and Certifications
Driver's License Required

Additional Physical Demands
The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Walking, climbing, driving and site visits are required
Must have a valid driver's license
Must be able to travel within the Company's service territory
