Job Description
Spartan Truck is seeking an Auto Electrician to perform electrical diagnostics, repairs, and installations on refuse vehicles and related equipment. This role involves troubleshooting electrical systems, installing components such as power take-offs (PTOs) on transmissions, and ensuring all electrical functions operate efficiently and safely.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Install, diagnose, and repair electrical components in refuse vehicles, including wiring, fuses, relays, and control systems.
Perform installations of Power Take-Offs (PTOs) on transmissions, ensuring proper integration with vehicle systems.
Inspect and troubleshoot electrical faults, including short circuits, faulty connections, and battery-related issues.
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and service manuals to diagnose and repair issues efficiently.
Maintain high safety standards and ensure compliance with electrical regulations.
Ensure all installations and repairs meet quality standards and operational efficiency requirements.
Competency Two (2) years of experience as an auto electrician or in a related field.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including fuses, relays, wiring, and battery systems.
Experience with PTO installations on transmissions.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Committed to maintaining safety and compliance standards.
Working Conditions This is an Exempt level position working in a Manufacturing environment. Exposure to paint and other paint related products on a continuous basis. Proper safety equipment will be provided.
Physical Demand Statement While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
