AECOM is actively seeking a talented
Senior Signal Engineer
to join our
World Class Rail Team
in our
New York Metro Region . In this position the ideal candidate shall have experience in the design and implementation of the following train control systems to include: Communication Based Train Control (CBTC), Positive Train Control (PTC), Automatic Train Supervision (ATS), Automatic Train Protection (ATP), Automatic Train Operation (ATO), Solid State Interlocking (SSI), Cab Signaling, Digital Tack Circuit Systems and conventional block signaling systems.
Daily duties and responsibilities include:
Vital and non‑vital processor programming
Developing Control Lines and Route and Aspect Charts
Develop and review design plans and technical specifications
Coordination of project designs with other disciplines including attendance at project meetings
Review shop drawings, record changes and communicate directly with suppliers, contractors and client representatives as required
Prepare construction estimates and engineering budgets
Serves as lead engineer on mid‑ to large size projects
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff’s specific area of expertise
Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts
Presents complex technical solutions to clients
Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others
Participates in development of technical proposals
Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS in Electrical Engineering or related field + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
8 years’ experience with designing Train Control Systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional Engineering license (NY, NJ)
12 years of experience of the design, construction, testing and commissioning of Train Control Systems and Equipment with an Engineering Firm, Transit Authority or Signaling Equipment Manufacture
Experience with train control systems for one or more of the following: commuter rail, subway, freight, light rail systems and street car systems
Experience managing/lead designer for signal projects from the conceptual design thru to final commissioning
