Description JOB TITLE: Estimator REPORTS TO: Estimating Manager SUMMARY Forecasts labor and material costs for all projects based on analyses of project specifications, pricing schedules, and historical data.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Gathers details and compiles data to estimate all production costs according to specifications.

Reviews blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to formulate cost estimates.

Considers raw materials, labor, equipment, tools, and transportation for estimates.

Helps determine necessary resources for projects based on cost estimates and budgetary constraints.

Reviews estimates as requested and analyzes established standards for cost reductions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY No formal supervisory responsibilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the industry.

Knowledge of production management, logistics, and supply chain concepts and methodologies.

Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products and associated software applications.

Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

May require a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area strongly preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Most work performed remotely under pressured, fast‑paced conditions; frequently requires overtime.

May require some travel.

Minimal exposure to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, dusty conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, hazardous machinery, heights.

Computer, telephone, fax machine, copy machine, adding machine, scanner.
