Qualifications/Requirements:

Must be 21 years of age.

Must pass a criminal background check.

Must pass pre‑employment & random drug testing.

Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Must have proof of current automobile insurance.

Must be able to work second shift (4:00 pm–12:00 am).

Must be able to work first shift (8:00 am–4:00 pm) and third shift (12:00 am–8:00 am) as needed.

Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Must have at least one year of experience working with individuals that have developmental and/or intellectual disabilities.

Able to read, understand, and implement written and oral instructions.

Ability to maintain client confidentiality.

Proficient communication and management skills.

Knowledge of basic computer skills including software applications, internet basics, email, and electronic medical records.

Responsibilities:

Work majority at assigned residence with up to eight (8) hours in office for administration duties.

Complete staffing schedules for assigned residence ensuring all shifts are covered, which could result in the Lead DSP working open shifts.

Coordinate all appointments of participants living in assigned residence with DSPs, House Manager, Program Nurse and/or legal guardians.

Ensure any equipment and resident safety hazards and repair needs are reported immediately to House Manager or Facility Director.

Ensure all medications are properly administered and MARS are completed; med errors are communicated timely to the House Manager.

Ensure the residence is neat, clean and free from clutter at all times.

Complete MAR checks as assigned.

Train new staff who are assigned to the home prior to the employee working independently.

Ensure all required documentation and tasks on the Daily Task sheet are completed daily.

Complete monthly summaries on all participants within the residential home by the 10th of each month.

Ensure all emergency drills are conducted correctly and on schedule per state regulations.

Provide equipment training (e.g., mechanical lifts) to DSPs as needed.

Provide support to other Lead DSPs and service locations in the event of emergencies and call‑ins as needed.

Coordinate staff meetings with the Residential Manager at least once a month.

Cooperate and work as a team member with co‑workers and supervisors. Treat co‑workers and supervisors with respect. Promote teamwork and maintain a positive attitude.

Complete initial and annual training (CPR, First Aid, TB, skin assessment, etc.) as directed by agency policy and regulatory standards. Attend monthly staff meetings and additional staff development trainings as scheduled.

Adhere to agency policy and procedures. Maintain a consistent work attendance record. Limit use of calling off to a minimum and notify direct supervisor in appropriate amount of time when unable to report to work.

Foster collaborative working relationships among members of the leadership and management teams and programs.
