Athletic Coach
The Athletic Coach at TVT Community Day School plays a vital role in advancing the school’s commitment to excellence both inside and outside the classroom. TVT’s athletic program is designed to develop positive role models, leaders, and responsible citizens on and off the playing fields. Guided by a belief in the educational value of interscholastic athletics, the coach supports student‑athletes in learning essential life lessons that contribute to their overall growth and well‑being. Through intentional instruction, mentorship, and modeling of sportsmanship and character, the Athletic Coach fosters teamwork, resilience, accountability, and respect while promoting physical development and a positive athletic experience for all students.
Essential Responsibilities
Plan and lead age‑appropriate practices that develop athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, and confidence.
Teach fundamental techniques, rules of the sport, and strategies appropriate to the developmental level of students.
Promote sportsmanship, respect, and positive competition.
Provide constructive feedback to support individual and team growth.
Student Safety & Supervision
Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all student‑athletes at practices and competitions.
Follow all school, league, and safety protocols, including emergency procedures and injury reporting.
Supervise students consistently before, during, and after practices and games.
Program & Team Management
Prepare teams for games, tournaments, and school athletic events.
Communicate schedules, expectations, and updates clearly with students, families, and the Athletic Director.
Maintain attendance, equipment inventory, and basic team records as required.
Support athletic department initiatives, events, and school‑wide programming when requested.
Collaboration & Professionalism
Work collaboratively with the Athletic Director, faculty, and staff.
Represent TVT positively with opposing schools, officials, families, and the broader community.
Model professionalism, integrity, and respect aligned with TVT’s mission and values.
Qualifications
Prior coaching experience with children or adolescents preferred.
Knowledge of the sport and ability to teach fundamental skills effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Successful completion of required background checks and school training.
