Environmental/Wetland Scientist – Energy Consulting About Our Client: A prominent environmental consulting firm in the Northeast U.S., known for its diverse client base and commitment to project success and team support.

Role Summary: Our client is seeking dedicated entry to mid-level Environmental/Wetland Scientists to join their newly formed Energy Services Practice. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting natural resource surveys and environmental permitting on various energy projects, including electric transmission/distribution, battery energy storage, solar, natural gas, and both onshore and offshore wind generation. Primary Responsibilities

Conducting wetland delineations, vernal pool surveys, rare species surveys, wildlife habitat assessments, and wetland function and values assessments.

Assisting in the preparation of technical reports and federal, state, and local environmental permit applications under relevant regulatory programs.

Performing project site inspections, construction oversight, and regulatory compliance evaluations on energy infrastructure construction projects.

Preferred Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in a natural resource-related field such as wetland science, biology, ecology, wildlife management, soil science, or botany.

3-7 years of relevant professional experience in natural resource surveys and environmental permitting projects, particularly in federal and state wetlands/NEPA permitting in New England and New York.

General environmental consulting experience in the energy market sector, including traditional and renewable generation facilities, electric and natural gas transmission/distribution, and energy storage projects.

Working knowledge of GIS and GPS survey tools.

Superior writing and oral communication skills.

Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously as part of a multidisciplinary project team.

Certifications such as Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) or In Training (PWIT) by the Society of Wetland Scientists, wetland scientist certification (CWS) by the State of New Hampshire, and/or certification as a Certified Wildlife Biologist (CWB) by The Wildlife Society are a plus. Willingness to travel as necessary within the Northeast.
