Lead and supervise the Creative Services Department, overseeing Associates through design, development, manufacturing, maintenance, and repair of park decorations, seasonal event décor, and visual displays for merchandise windows. Key responsibilities include coordinating the installation of seasonal events, programming FX electronics, scheduling and budgeting, resource allocation, and implementing best practices to enhance operational performance and guest satisfaction. The role emphasizes team leadership and the ability to operate as part of a cohesive team.
Responsibilities
Lead the manufacturing, installation, and strike of seasonal, special, and promotional event decor and merchandise window displays.
Lead vendors for visual lighting decor and assign projects and duties to Associates based on needs and abilities.
Install special effect electronics and program special effects to function properly.
Lead full‑time, part‑time, and seasonal staff to ensure event décor and merchandise displays are completed within the scheduled timeframe and budgeted amounts, while upholding quality standards.
Provide feedback to the Manager on Associate performance and potential.
Support other departments with décor assistance, such as Production, Catering, and Hotel, and request necessary assistance from those departments.
Lead inventory management efforts, controlling and storing décor and display elements.
Lead, train, and develop key Associates through meaningful goals, accountabilities, daily direction, and guidance.
Assist in accurately tracking the departmental budget and responsibilities.
Coordinate the procurement and scheduled use of labor, equipment, and materials to ensure maximum use and completion of work within budget, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree/vocational or technical school degree with emphasis in Theatrical Design, Visual Design, Art, or related field preferred.
At least 6‑8 years of related work experience preferred; at least 3‑5 years of prior supervisory/management experience required.
Demonstrated visual creative expertise, including basic hand tools, paint techniques, graphics, and floral design.
Knowledge of Adobe or equivalent design programs.
Strong written communication skills—including business letter writing, grammar, spelling, and mathematics.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel desired.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.
Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
