Prince William County Government
Join the Office of Youth Services Pretrial Team and make a meaningful impact for youth and their families. As a Pretrial Officer, you play a vital role in strengthening community safety and supporting fair justice practices across the county. This position offers the opportunity to guide individuals through the pretrial process, ensure accountability, and help reduce unnecessary incarceration. Your work directly contributes to a more efficient court system, safer neighborhoods, and better outcomes for the people we serve. If you’re motivated by meaningful public service and the chance to make a measurable impact, this role puts you at the heart of that mission.
About This Role Juvenile Pretrial Officer serves as a key link between the court, the community, and the youth involved in the justice system. In this role, you will conduct intake assessments, supervise youth awaiting adjudication, and provide the court with accurate, timely information about each youth’s progress while under supervision. You help ensure compliance with court-ordered conditions through consistent monitoring, documentation, and communication with families, schools, and service providers.
Beyond accountability, this position is deeply rooted in support. You guide youth and families toward needed resources, coordinate with community partners, and promote stability during a critical period in the legal process. As a Juvenile Pretrial Officer, you play a vital role in balancing public safety, court appearance, and youth well-being — all while advancing equitable, trauma‑informed practices that strengthen outcomes for both youth and the county.
Position Overview This is a full-time in-person position with full employee benefits. The selected candidate must be able to work independently, demonstrate strong professionalism, and maintain accurate documentation in a fast‑paced environment.
