Newport News Shipbuilding , a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is the largest industrial employer in Virginia and the sole designer, builder, and refueler of U.S. Navy nuclear aircraft carriers and one of two providers of U.S. Navy nuclear submarines. The company employs over 25,000 people, including skilled trades, engineers, software developers and more. We are looking for a Foreman to supervise trades personnel across multiple shifts.

The Role Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi‑skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience and job knowledge. Supervise and train employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed. Recommend training to enhance skill and productivity of employees, and assist in developing training procedures. Break broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensure employees are trained to perform these plans. Responsible for complying with all technical aspects of the job, including adherence to drawings and procedures. Responsible for manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that have a significant financial impact on the company’s performance. Supervise qualified trades staff and monitor job and budget performance for all shifts.
Sign‑On Bonus Newport News Shipbuilding is offering a $5,000 sign‑on bonus to Foreman new hires who apply on qualifying requisitions. Current Newport News Shipbuilding employees are also eligible.
Must Have BS/Apprentice or High School graduate with 6 years related trade experience.
