Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Patent Attorney to join our Cellular Standards Patenting team at Nokia Technologies. In this role, you will draft and prosecute Nokia’s invaluable patent applications in the field of 3GPP technologies in collaboration with seasoned external and/or internal patent attorneys globally. You will be at the forefront of protecting inventions contributed to 5G and 6G standard development with IP while collaborating with top researchers in the telecom industry. With your expertise in patent law and practice, you will contribute to building a world‑leading, monetizable patent portfolio in the cellular standards area. This is a unique opportunity to join the Nokia team of patent professionals with a strong track record of high‑quality patent assets that have been successfully used in licensing and litigation worldwide.
How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn
Draft patent applications in-house and with external patent attorneys
Prosecute globally the patent applications in-house and with external patent attorneys
Evaluate filed patent applications on a regular basis
Review claim charts and collaborate with others to ascertain the claim scope and mapping to standards
Collaborate closely with the inventor community
Key Skills And Experience
Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics (or equivalent)
Minimum of 5 years of experience with 3GPP‑related patent applications and prosecution
Qualified European Patent Attorney, US Patent Attorney/Agent, or Indian Patent Agent
It would be nice if you also had
Extensive experience with 3GPP radio‑related technologies and standards
Ability to innovate and adapt to new ways of doing things
Great skills at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Strong business judgment, analytical acumen, and communication skills
Drive for results
Mentality of a collaborative team player
Ability to motivate and inspire others
