Winston & Strawn LLP is seeking an Administrative Receptionist to work in our Washington, DC office. This full‑time position involves managing front‑desk operations, supporting attorneys, and ensuring a professional and welcoming environment for clients, visitors, and staff.

Position Summary The Administrative Receptionist will handle incoming calls, clients, vendors, and deliveries, directing them to the appropriate individuals in accordance with established policies and procedures. Duties also include managing visitor requests, conference rooms, and providing administrative support to attorneys and other departments.
Duties and Responsibilities Primary:
Greet and welcome clients and visitors, announce their arrival, and direct them per firm policy.
Maintain a professional manner with internal and external clients; adhere to appearance and dress standards.
Support operation and facilities through invoice processing, conference room scheduling, and other tasks requested by Facilities & Operations Manager.
Respond to concierge inquiries and direct them to appropriate departments.
Answer incoming external and internal calls, providing information and assistance as needed.
Pre‑register guests, notify building security or Facilities & Operations Manager of unauthorized visitors, and provide clearance for non‑registered guests.
Assign visitor offices, inform facilities for name plate purposes, and update the visitor list.
Book and confirm conference rooms—including food, refreshments, and IS requirements—using the firm’s booking system.
Monitor conference room activity, coordinate restocking and clean‑up, and modify or cancel reservations as needed.
Seek managerial approval for non‑billable reservations or extended usage per guidelines.
Resolve conference room conflicts by contacting appropriate parties and advising the manager of potential issues.
Assist with distribution of building access key fobs.
Secondary:
Provide administrative assistance to attorneys and practice coordinators, including printing, emailing, scanning, faxing, and minor document edits.
Support Business Development and Attorney Recruiting departments with client and attorney receptions and special events, as requested.
Work overtime and remain flexible with the schedule when required.
Arrange car service reservations for clients and attorneys.
Complete various administrative projects assigned.
Maintain the lobby and reception area neatness.
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Three (3) or more years of receptionist or administrative experience in a law firm or corporate environment.
In‑office role; expected to be present 5 days per week.
Competencies
Strong interpersonal skills for communication with visitors, attorneys, and staff.
Excellent oral, written, and visual communication abilities.
Capability to remain pleasant, accommodating, and to handle high volumes of phone calls.
Experience with automated telephone and office directory systems.
Problem‑solving skills to choose among clear‑cut alternatives.
Physical ability to handle telephone calls, lift small packages, and operate equipment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with building security software.
Teamwork orientation.
Available for irregular hours or overtime as needed.

Salary Washington, DC based applicants only: The target annual salary range is $50,000 – $58,000, depending on experience, qualifications, market data, and internal equity. Compensation also includes a comprehensive healthcare benefits package, yearly retirement contribution, and may include an annual discretionary merit bonus.
