Overview General Purpose: Assists in administering all daily operations including, but not limited to: facilitating sales, assisting with merchandise, operating POS system, managing handicap and tee sheet applications, acting as ranger, starter, guest relations, outside service or golf shop shifts.

The Assistant Golf Professional position is essential to ensuring the day‑to‑day golf operations run smoothly and providing exceptional customer service to Native Oaks Golf Club’s guests. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, serving guests in a courteous and professional manner, prioritizing assignments, handling multiple tasks, and working independently or as part of a team. The position will report to the Head Golf Professional and have all opportunities to grow their own experiences and knowledge to be ready for the next stage in their career.

Pay rate range: $20.00 to $23.50 per hour depending on experience.

Essential Duties

Assists in administering all point‑of‑sales application revisions and needs as it applies to green fee sales, merchandise sales, and member/guest billing.

Coordinates with Accounting Department all policy and procedure revisions, updates, and implementation.

Reconciles daily tee sheets, performs check‑in, and receives payments from members and guests. Resolves discrepancies as it applies to duplicate charges and over or under payment. Tracks all force‑posts and no‑show charges as applicable.

Promotes all club golf activities.

Assists in the creation of lesson plans and provides both individual and group instruction.

Maintains a clean, orderly, and well‑stocked golf shop.

Assists retail buyer with procurement and merchandising.

Prepares for all golf outings including coordinating scorecards, cart labels, rules sheets, format sheets, favors, pairing sheets, and hole assignments.

Follows established opening and closing procedures.

Assists with the care and maintenance of the golf facilities’ physical assets.

Acts as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees.

Assists with associate training.

Interprets and imposes club policies, rules, and regulations.

Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.

Regular and reliable attendance.

Performs other duties as required.

Experience Required

Ability to read and speak English is required to perform the duties of the job.

A self‑starter with results‑oriented work style combined with exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Experience with computerized POS and tee time system.

Minimum Requirements/Education

Associate’s degree (AA); or two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

2+ years experience in golf course operations or a related industry.

Current PGA member or enrolled in the PGA PGMP program.

Must have open availability to work on weekends, holidays and on occasion extended hours.

Certificates/Licenses

Maintains membership with the PGA and CMAA and other professional associations. Attends workshops and meetings to keep abreast of current information and developments.
