Title:

ARNP, PAC, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, APP, Advanced Practice Provider

Department:

Cardiology

Locations:

Hospital: Tampa General Hospital; Clinic: 5 Tampa General Circle; Clinic: 4210 W Linebaugh Ave (every Thursday).

Setting:

Daily clinic and hospital coverage plus designated weekends.

Responsibilities

Assess the physical and psychosocial status of patients via interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic studies.

Recognize deviations from normal in the physical assessment and collaborate to formulate treatment plans.

Implement appropriate management based on laboratory results, physical assessment, routine diagnostic and follow‑up studies, therapeutic measures, admission and discharge care in accordance with written practice protocols.

Initiate appropriate actions to facilitate the implementation of therapeutic plans consistent with the continuing healthcare needs of patients.

Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.

Provide compassionate and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.

Be aware of legal issues and patients’ rights.

Identify, analyze, and resolve patient care issues to foster significant improvement in patient care.

Dictate and document accurately and timely.

Maintain provision of preventive health services.

Conduct or participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds.

Perform detailed history and physical examinations and document inpatient H & P and discharge summaries (must be reviewed and countersigned by supervising medical staff member within 24 hours and may not be substituted for physician H & P).

Write or dictate reports and progress notes appropriately in the medical record.

Triage patients.

Share clinical expertise with professional and supportive personnel and collaborate with other healthcare disciplines to ensure continuity and quality of care.

Qualifications Education/Training:

MN or MSN or DNP or PhD or DNS degree in nursing required or graduate of accredited physician assistant program.

Licensure/Certification:

Florida ARNP license or Physician Assistant licensure in the state of Florida; national advanced certification from an approved nursing specialty board or nationally certified by the NCCPA for Physician Assistants; current BLS certification.

Experience:

Cardiology experience preferred but not required.
