Research Specialist (Part-time) University of Colorado Anschutz Campus, Colorado School of Public Health – Lifecourse Epidemiology of Adiposity & Diabetes (LEAD) Center.

Job Summary As a Research Specialist (Research Services Entry Professional), you will be a key member of the LEAD Center, conducting study visits and supporting the laboratory and biorepository. Tasks include consenting, biospecimen collection, anthropometric measurements, questionnaire administration, data entry in REDCap and FreezerPro, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct in‑person research visits, including consenting, physical measurements, phlebotomy, and questionnaire administration

Set up data collection kits for visits and complete data entry

Process biospecimen, including frozen biospecimen pulls, aliquoting, and shipping

Maintain SAS code to manage lab results dataset

Perform data QA/QC in the FreezerPro database

Ensure regulatory compliance

Part‑time (0.5 FTE) position reporting to the Biorepository Operations Manager

Work Location Onsite at the University of Colorado Anschutz Campus in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in public health, public administration, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, nursing, healthcare, or a related field from an accredited institution

Substitution: Combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year‑for‑year basis

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in public health research

Experience with data entry databases, especially REDCap

Experience in biospecimen processing techniques

Experience conducting in‑person research visits or clinical experience

Experience with SAS coding

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Effective written and oral communication

Ability to establish and maintain relationships across an institution

Outstanding customer service skills

Fosters a community valuing diverse backgrounds and perspectives

Ability to understand and carry out activities for multiple studies

Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice guidelines

Accurate data entry skills

Anticipated Salary Range $25,000 – $27,500 (0.5 FTE). May be eligible for overtime compensation.
