Behavior Technician – Childcare Experience Welcome at Autism Learning Partners. No certification required; 6+ months of paid or volunteer experience working with children (babysitting, tutoring, camp counseling, church/youth groups, etc.). Build your career while supporting children and teens with autism.
Location: Huntington Beach, CA. Compensation: $23.00–$28.00 per hour.
Schedule & Pay
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–6 PM or 3:30 PM–8 PM
Work setting: primarily in client homes, some sessions at local centers
Daily pay access available
Compensation: $20–$29 per hour (depending on location)
Spanish fluency earns an extra $0.50 per hour
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED and at least one semester of college coursework (or currently enrolled)
At least 6 months paid or volunteer experience with children, preferably in educational or therapeutic settings (ABA experience a plus)
Smartphone or similar device capable of capturing client session data; tech‑savvy
Experience with individuals with autism or special needs an advantage
Pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle record check, TB test, pre‑employment physical exam; immunities to MMR/VZV required (onboarding covers these)
Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and car insurance
Ability to keep up with active children and maintain enthusiasm and professionalism
What You’ll Do
Teach children new skills (communication, sharing, following directions) through play and games
Act as a positive role model, encouraging progress and celebrating victories
Stay active during sessions
Track session data and progress (training provided)
Support families as part of a team helping them see real progress and hope
