Job Description Oatridge Security Group (OSG) is looking for an Unarmed Security Officer in Seattle to join its rapidly growing team. The Unarmed Security Officer is responsible for conducting patrols and static security at an office complex in Seattle.
Officers will be required to have the ability to stand or walk for long periods of time and work outside in the elements.
The Unarmed Security Officer will be required to challenge individuals to prevent unauthorized access and verbally trespass any violators. The work is performed outdoors and indoors.
This position requires individuals that possess self-discipline, de‑escalation skills, a good work ethic, and punctuality.
Unarmed Security Officers must be able to pass an extensive background check and drug test. Candidates should be well groomed, articulate, dependable, and a team player. The Unarmed Security Officer does not act in the capacity of a law enforcement officer and has no arrest or apprehension powers.
OSG has over 20 years’ experience providing top of the line security services to the commercial sector and U.S government, operating throughout Washington and Oregon. In 2020, OSG was recognized as the SBA National 8(A) Graduate of the Year.
Qualifications
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
18 years of age or older
High School Diploma or equivalent
Prior military, civilian, or security officer experience preferred but not required.
Required Skills
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language fluently
Ability to follow written rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training material
Excellent customer service skills in phone and face‑to‑face conversation, with excellent written and spoken command of the English language
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Detect, deter, and report crime, fire, unusual events, and emergencies.
Follow all company personnel and safety policies and perform all assigned duties in a safe manner.
Arrive at work at the designated time in proper uniform with any necessary equipment.
Carry out general and special orders for assigned post.
Communicate via radio, telephone, and in‑person, according to orders.Take responsibility for the cleanliness of uniforms and assigned equipment.
Meet, greet, and interact professionally with clients and the general public.
Maintain poise and self‑control under stress.
Construct and write clear, concise, accurate, and detailed reports in English.
Comfortability with turning away trespassers, loiterers, and transients (who might be under the influence of drugs or alcohol) on the client’s property from a safe distance away.
