Child Care Mentor Coach
Location: Tarrant County, Texas | Status: Regular Full Time | Job Code: 2025-TARRANT-017
Job Overview Provide on-site mentoring to child care providers attaining and maintaining Texas Rising Star (TRS) certification, support facilities in achieving 4 Star or National Accreditation status, develop instructional materials, and participate in community events.
Responsibilities
Conduct on-site mentoring for TRS certification and 4 Star/ National Accreditation progress.
Maintain a bi-monthly visit schedule to ensure regular TRS site visits.
Submit weekly reports detailing site visits, successes, and obstacles.
Develop instructional materials and deliver monthly training sessions for TRS facilities.
Recruit RSACC providers and provide on-site training to attain TRS status.
Assist in ordering materials and resources through the Quality Initiatives program for the TRS program.
Collaborate with the Director on TRS categories: Director and Staff Qualifications, Program Administration, Indoor and Outdoor Environments.
Support TRS category Teacher-Child Interactions as needed.
Manage Service Improvement Agreements (SIA) with providers, including probation, star level drop, and document uploads.
Handle financial agreements and related documentation (W‑9, rate changes, holiday changes).
Work collaboratively with the TRS Coach and Assessor.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with at least 18 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, child psychology, educational psychology, elementary education, or family science.
Minimum of 1 year experience in an early childhood setting.
Proven experience delivering training and development workshops for adults with effective results.
Knowledge of best practices and current research in early childhood education.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Computer proficiency and current technological skills.
Ability to pass a pre-employment and/or periodic physical examination, annual TB skin test, and complete a background check every 24 months.
Insured and reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements
Walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.
Use hands repetitively; lift up to 30 pounds; reach, turn, twist, kneel, bend, and stoop.
Monitor children’s safety during activities.
Maintain close and distance vision; adjust focus as needed.
