In this role, you’ll work closely with students to provide proactive, hands-on support that promotes retention, completion, and career readiness. From academic planning and career exploration to connecting students with campus and community resources, Student Success Coaches play a vital role in helping students navigate their college journey with confidence. Key Responsibilities: Deliver Proactive, Student-Centered Advising and Support
Build intentional, supportive relationships with assigned students through consistent, goal-informed advising.
Monitor student progress toward degree completion and provide timely intervention for at-risk students.
Assess student needs and connect students to appropriate academic, college, and community resources.
Model effective problem-solving strategies, civil discourse, and professional conduct in support of student success.
Integrate Career Exploration and Work-Based Learning with Academic Planning
Connect students’ academic goals with career pathways through Work-Based Learning opportunities.
Collaborate with faculty, administration, and student services to support career-aligned student success initiatives.
Advise students and alumni on career-related decisions using assessment tools where appropriate.
Assist students with career exploration resources, resume development, and placement-related services.
Develop and Deliver Student Success, Retention, and Career Programming
Plan, implement, and assess academic success, retention, career exploration, and community-building programs.
Develop, coordinate, facilitate, and present career development workshops and student success activities.
Foster a student-centered success environment through intentional programming and engagement.
Maintain Compliance, Professional Standards, and Institutional Engagement
Maintain expert-level knowledge of applicable college, state, and federal policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
Assist students in understanding how institutional and regulatory requirements impact their academic progress.
Provide first-line support for student conduct concerns in alignment with college policies.
Uphold NACADA Advising Core Values and demonstrate CWI’s values through words and actions.
Participate in institutional, school, and department initiatives that support student success.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
Strong technical abilities: database systems, presentation software, Microsoft Office suites, or equivalent
Strong cross-cultural interpersonal and writing skills are necessary
Strong public speaking skills and ability to represent the college in a positive way to diverse populations
Strong Event Planning/Coordination skills
Ability to interpret, follow, and administer academic and administrative policy
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
Ability to travel between various locations throughout the day
2-3 years of experience college/university advising, career counseling, job placement, or financial aid office, or goal-oriented client/customer service work preferred but not required
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required

Eleven paid holidays per year (faculty may vary)
