Ergon Refining, Inc., in Vicksburg is currently looking for a Process Technical Services Manager. The Process Technical Services Manager will administer and coordinate the affairs of all of the disciplines of the department, including the QA Laboratory, Pilot Plant (Development Laboratory), Process Engineering, Information Systems, and Process Controls groups to achieve overall departmental, facility, and corporate goals.
Process Technical Services Manager Qualifications:
Minimum of a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with five years refinery experience preferred, OR a B.S. in another engineering or technical discipline with a minimum of five years in refining environment in plant technical support role, servicing operations, laboratory and engineering disciplines
Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role is preferred
Knowledge of OSHA PSM Standard and EPA's RMP standard's technical application to the refining industry is preferred
General knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 17205 technical application to refining is preferred
General knowledge of plant engineering is preferred, including process engineering, process controls, project engineering, operations troubleshooting and technical support
General knowledge of laboratory activities in refining is preferred
Knowledge of control of quality markers specific to production of lubricants preferred, including viscosity, solvency, volatility, cleanliness and appearance
Self-motivated individual with excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills
Successful completion of training requirements as outlined by the Refinery Management
Process Technical Services Manager Responsibilities:
Manage the efforts of the Process Engineering group in the application of chemical engineering principles to the areas of process optimization and troubleshooting, process design and process development to refinery specific unit operations
Direct supervisory responsibility of the Process Controls personnel ensuring capacity and proficiency in the areas of maintaining, developing and troubleshooting refinery DCS, BCS, SIS and miscellaneous PLC and related I/O
Direct supervisory responsibility of the Information Systems Supervisor ensuring the capacity and proficiency in management of data, network, and applications.
Direct supervisory responsibility of the QA Lab Supervisor in maintaining, modifying and improving the laboratory quality management system and specification management program, supervision of laboratory personnel, and adherence to ISO 17025
Direct supervisory responsibility of the Pilot Plant (Development Laboratory) personnel ensuring safe and efficient operation and data integrity while maintaining the pilot plant on schedule and in accordance with internal and external technical advisors
Administer and coordinate process technical support activities for process operations at the facility, aligning priority and communication between process engineering, controls and laboratory personnel to best support plant activities
Monitor, identify gaps, and initiate process operations improvements based on metrics on process safety, environmental impact, product quality, and production targets to ensure facility performance is in alignment with refinery goals as defined by the facility manager and corporate initiatives
Interface with facility administrate staff to ensure process technical support needs are being met for all disciplines including Operations, Maintenance/Engineering/Purchasing, and Operational Excellence departments
Interface with corporate segments as needed to support corporate initiatives and programs, including, Sales & Operations Planning, Raw Material Qualification, Process and Product Technical Development, Product Quality Reviews, and Budget development
Ensure all departmental training and qualification needs are met for all direct reports
Exemplify utmost professional, moral, ethical, and safe work habits at all times
Develop and maintain good working relationships with all co-workers, customers, and associates
