Overview The

Rental Account Manager

is the primary Rental Sales/Marketing function at the BU level. The position primarily supports the commercial rental and trailer services product lines, increasing Ryder's rental sales presence in the BU and ensuring profitable new account creation while retaining existing accounts. The goal is pure rental revenue growth, improved profitability, and Return on Assets, with additional lease sales contributions to improve productivity.

Responsibilities

SALES: Develop leads through cold calls, telephone solicitation, and customer visits. Use product knowledge to assess customer needs, develop proposals, and coordinate with rental operations to ensure equipment availability. Role includes marketing at the branch level and training rental sales representatives in telemarketing skills.

CUSTOMER RETENTION: Maintain contact with customers via visits and phone calls, handle complaints, and stay aware of customer needs for long-term rentals.

TIME ADMINISTRATION: Prepare proposals, maintain customer files, coordinate follow-up correspondence, manage DPS system data, oversee credit approvals, collections, and scheduling status.

SCOPE OF DECISION MAKING: Contact decision makers, develop competitive proposals, train RSRs in phone and marketing techniques; retain customers in a price‑competitive market; schedule retention visits; follow up timely; ensure compliance with company procedures; manage collections diplomatically.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marketing or 5 years equivalent job related experience required

One (1) year or more sales experience or equivalent sales training required

Three (3) years or more sales experience preferred

One (1) year or more Industry experience preferred

Compensation Information Salaried base of

$51,000

plus commission. Base salary range is $51,000 base + commission. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long‑term incentive plan.
