This is a half-time Deputy Director position. The role is fully remote, though living in the Washington, DC, metro area is a strong plus. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in museum administration or cultural nonprofits, a strong record of fundraising success, and the creativity to bring innovative marketing and engagement strategies to life. Responsibilities include helping the Museum's founder with fundraising (foundations, major donors), overseeing museum (online) education programs, strategic planning, and communicating with major donors. With fundraising success, the part-time position could possibly convert to full-time.
Job Requirements
Demonstrated expertise in museum (or similar civic institution) management
Strong experience in successful fundraising with foundations and major donors
Experience with strategic planning
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with board members, volunteers, and outsiders
Bachelor's or advanced degree in Museum Studies, Environmental Studies, Public Health, Fundraising, or a related field is preferred
Demonstrated interest in food, nutrition, health, environment is desired
