Reporting to the Vice President, Information Systems in GIS, the Manager, Enterprise Analytics leads strategy, architecture, and operations for Albany's enterprise data analytics. This role maintains continuity of Power BI and SSAS solutions delivering SAP data, and drives modernization aligned with Albany's SAP S/4HANA platform. The modernization will leverage current Microsoft and SAP technologies, as well as 3rd party solutions where required. The role establishes a decision-making framework for selecting analytics tools and architectures that align with Albany's strategies and requirements. Key Responsibilities
Platform Management: Maintain and optimize the existing Microsoft analytics stack (Power BI, SSAS, SAP data replication), ensuring reliable and secure reporting. Enterprise Data Architecture: Define and maintain a target-state architecture for SAP S/4HANA and other enterprise data, covering data ingestion, modeling, and consumption. Modernization Leadership: Lead migrations and new cloud-first builds; develop transition and coexistence strategies. Fit-for-Purpose Framework: Create and maintain a framework guiding technology selection based on business strategy, performance, cost, compliance, and user experience. Embedded Analytics Enablement: Expand S/4HANA Embedded Analytics usage across functions and guide transition from legacy tools. Data Governance & Security: Collaborate with GIS Compliance and Cybersecurity to implement governance, role-based access, data cataloging, and auditability. Solution Delivery & Standards: Set standards for semantic modeling, performance optimization, CI/CD, environment management, and cost governance for analytics. Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business units to translate priorities into analytics roadmaps and measurable outcomes. Vendor & Partner Management: Manage relationships with SAP, Microsoft, other 3rd party tools, and SI partners; evaluate offerings and guide RFPs. Team Development: Mentor team members, define skill sets and training for analytics platforms, and foster continuous improvement. Qualifications
Desired Skills: Understanding of business processes and KPI relevant to global manufacturers. 5 years+ developing and managing analytics solutions in an enterprise environment. Leadership with Microsoft Power BI, SQL, SSAS and SSRS delivering SAP ERP and S/4HANA data at scale. Experience architecting with modern tooling from Microsoft, SAP, and 3rd party tools such as: Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, SAP Business Data Cloud, SAP Analytics Cloud, and S/4HANA Embedded Analytics. Strong grasp of data architecture principles (dimensional/data vault modeling, semantic layers, ELT/ETL, orchestration, performance tuning). Ability to design and operationalize governance in regulated/global environments. Track record of leading cross-functional programs and delivering measurable outcomes. US citizen or permanent resident. Preferred: Experience integrating SAP CDS views, ABAP-managed CDS, and OData with modern data lake architectures. Familiarity with CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, and FinOps for cloud analytics cost governance. Knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOX, CMMC) and coordination with GIS Compliance and Cybersecurity.
