Michelle Farmer is seeking an experienced Luxury Fashion Buyer to join our dynamic team. We specialize in exquisitely crafted luxury womenswear, proudly designed and manufactured in the USA at our West Palm Beach atelier. With boutiques in Palm Beach, Southampton, NY, and Boca Raton, our brand is defined by sophistication, craftsmanship, and integrity.
About the Role The Luxury Fashion Buyer plays a pivotal role in shaping seasonal assortments across all boutiques. Working closely with the owner and buying team, this role supports merchandise strategy through trend research, vendor sourcing, assortment planning, and performance analysis. The Buyer partners cross‑functionally with logistics, stores, and marketing to ensure seamless execution—from purchase order creation to in‑store storytelling—while maintaining strong, collaborative vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities
Partner with the owner and buying team on seasonal merchandise selection, assortment planning, and pricing strategy
Research trends, track market shifts, and identify new brands aligned with the Michelle Farmer aesthetic
Manage vendor relationships, including negotiations, contracts, pricing, shipping terms, duties, and delivery timelines
Create, enter, and manage purchase orders in the POS system, including pricing, imagery, and ship‑date tracking
Monitor budgets, deposits, late shipments, markdowns, and sell‑through performance through weekly and daily reporting
Analyze sales data to ensure optimal inventory levels and seasonal product alignment across all store locations
Collaborate with logistics to resolve shipping, customs, and inventory discrepancies for outside vendors
Manage samples, special orders, and vendor order forms with visual references for approval
Train store teams on new vendors, collections, and brand storytelling to support in‑store sales excellence
Work directly with store managers to gather feedback on product performance, placement, and inventory needs
Develop seasonal mood boards reflecting Michelle Farmer designs and curated vendor assortments
Coordinate with marketing and retail teams to plan and attend trunk shows, special events, and in‑store activations
Attend buying appointments and industry shows to support selection and cultivate new vendor partnerships
Skills & Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years’ experience buying luxury womenswear
Strong negotiation skills with proven experience managing vendor contracts and pricing
Excellent communication and relationship‑management abilities
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and analytical
Passion and eye for luxury fashion, craftsmanship, and brand storytelling
