ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
Schedule/Hours:
Varies. Normally Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with some weekends as needed.
This position is responsible for:
Coordinates, facilitates, schedules and monitors a variety of engaging activities and events for The Salvation Army- Hoblitzelle Camp, including but not limited to, the challenge courses, swimming, boating, team building exercises, etc.; monitors all activities to ensure needs of the participants are met and to ensure compliance with established activity plans as well as The Salvation Army policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensures safety compliance for challenge course, swimming, boating, etc., activities.
Conducts daily checks of area and equipment for safety, cleanliness and good repair; secures and locks all equipment at the end of each session; identifies any environmental and other potential hazards related to the activity.
Conducts and facilitates group and individual team building activities.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively.
Some physical requirements of the position could be endurance including climbing, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate equipment and activities are required. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Operate with daily exposure to the sun and heat and varying environmental conditions.
Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
One year Experience performing similar programmatic duties preferred
Or
any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
Certifications:
Valid State Drivers License (preferred)
CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframe)
Lifeguard Certification (preferred)
Ropes Course Certification (preferred)
