Job Description SAIC is hiring a
Strategic Communications Analyst
to assist with external stakeholder engagement, public affairs, speaking opportunities, media relations, and messaging strategy and execution in support of the Office of Strategic Capital (OSC) within the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering (OUSW(R&E)). The ideal candidate will have the ability to create unified, results-oriented messaging strategies for senior government officials and programs that are tactically executed through conference attendance, speaking engagements, press releases, media statements, social media posts, and website content. The successful candidate will play a critical role in advancing OSC's mission with a variety of external stakeholders to include the private capital community, press, and U.S. companies in key technology sectors. This position works across the organization to sync communications efforts that directly support OSC principals and OSC’s broader strategic goals.
This position is
hybrid . When onsite, work will be located in
Washington, DC.
Key Responsibilities
Spearhead external engagement, including planning and managing OSC’s public presence at national security, industry, and finance conferences, roundtables, fireside chats, and other key stakeholder forums.
Craft communications rollouts, to include press releases, talking points, and social media posts, in support of major OSC projects and milestones.
Manage press relationships, including fielding responses to media queries, working closely with OUSW(R&E) and Department of War (DoW) public affairs leadership on media strategy.
Develop and update website content to accurately inform stakeholders with timely updates.
Lead OSC’s ethics compliance in relation to participation in external events, ensuring alignment with DoW legal guidelines.
Maintain an internal content library of continuously updated talking points, templates, and other document products to ensure a unified approach to communications and external engagements across the enterprise.
Field and direct industry and business partnership requests to the appropriate OSC vectors.
Fulltime salary for this position is targeted between $140-150K based on education, experience, and skills.
Required Qualification Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
Ten (10) years of relevant experience. Candidates with a Master’s degree must have eight (8) years of experience.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in technical writing or strategic communications.
Required Clearance
Active SECRET clearance required to start; Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI required to maintain employment.
US citizenship required.
Required Skills
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress, and other graphic design and layout tools.
Familiarity with content management systems, customer relationship tool, social media platforms, and data analytics.
Strong project management and organizational skills including the demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines with minimal direction or oversight.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Expertise in developing and maintaining content across various mediums, including web, print, social media, and email marketing, while maintaining customer relationship management (CRM) tools and content libraries.
Familiarity with simultaneously supporting multiple “C‑Suite” level principals and effectively balancing various leadership priorities to achieve tangible results.
Desired Skills
Familiarity with investment and technology-related terminology and concepts.
Experience supporting DoW or other government agency principals at or above the SES level.
Speechwriting experience.
Knowledge of defense and trade-specific media.
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
