Responsibilities
Managing social media for Vanderheyden and The Vandy Thrift Shoppe, including creating, maintaining, and strengthening the overall brand of the organization across all media platforms.
Revise and update PR policies and protocols.
Craft and deliver quarterly public newsletter/interviews for the newsletter.
Create and update graphic flyers/program brochures.
Distribute press releases to media outlets.
Enhance media outreach program, check presentations, and community relations.
Assist in budget planning for the Marketing Department.
Prepare donor thank‑you letters/communications.
Assist in fundraising events and vendor invoicing.
Grant opportunities and input when appropriate.
Responsible for the overall upkeep of the donor databases, Networkforgood, and FundEZ, including generating reports and mail merge for mailings.
Assist in marketing department budget planning to ensure money spent is ethical and has a return on investment.
Oversee and edit the Vanderheyden website using CMS.
Attend networking events.
Organize and create an annual report.
Liaison with donors and thank‑you letters.
Hire and supervise junior marketing team/interns.
Assist in the hiring and scheduling process at The Vandy Thrift Shoppe.
Annual Holiday Program Fundraiser: pitch letter, mailing, outreach.
Required Education, Knowledge, and Skills
Bachelor's Degree.
2 years of work experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and social media platforms.
Detail‑oriented and organizational skills.
Proficiency in graphic design (Canva or equivalent).
Proficiency in amateur photography.
Abilities and Working Conditions
Attention to detail, dependability, integrity, leadership, and initiative.
Ability to use the assigned computer drive for working documents.
Skill in interacting with individuals with developmental disabilities and behavioral problems in a positive, caring manner.
Adaptability to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Display a positive, professional, and proactive attitude to accomplish quality work that aligns with the agency’s mission statement.
Compensation: $26‑$28 an hour.
