College Print Shop Specialist (Level I, II, III- Provisional) Join the City University of New York as a College Print Shop Specialist. This role supports campus printing operations, customer service, equipment maintenance, and inventory control.

Responsibilities

Maintain production standards, quality control, safety standards.

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot offset press, folding, saddle stitching, binding, punching, cutting, and mailing equipment.

Perform routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs.

Coordinate work of part‑time employees, review progress and quality.

Maintain liaison with client departments, advise on equipment capacities and reproduction techniques.

Schedule equipment usage, manage production inventory, and control costs.

Mix inks, calibrate colors, and create posters and photo offsets using wide‑format or commercial graphics printers.

Recordkeeping, housekeeping, and inventory tasks; strip line and halftone negatives in exact register.

Supervise part‑time employees, train print shop staff, and insert and mail equipment as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience in basic printing, duplicating, and reproduction work (Level I: 6 months, Level II: 1 year, Level III: 18 months, Level IV: 2 years, Level V: 5 years).

English language proficiency sufficient to meet minimally acceptable performance standards.

Part‑time experience of at least 20 hours per week may be prorated and credited; fewer than 20 hours will not receive credit.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Ability to stand for extended periods, move around as necessary, and perform tasks while standing.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary based on education and experience; Level I: $34,932 new hire, Level II: $39,837 new hire, Level III: $41,493 new hire.
