Job Summary Financial Aid is seeking dedicated and compassionate Federal Work‑Study students to serve as Literacy Tutors in Gwinnett County Public Libraries.
In this role you will support individuals in developing essential reading skills, making a meaningful impact on the local community while gaining valuable hands‑on experience in education.
Travel Requirement This position requires travel to assigned Gwinnett County Public Library branches.
Responsibilities
Reading comprehension through activities such as reading books together
Working on letter sounds
Playing literacy games
Creative writing
Required Qualifications
Must have a Federal Work Study award
Must be currently enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at Georgia Gwinnett College
Must have reliable transportation to and from work sites as required by the position
Must be in good academic standing and maintain good standing for the duration of employment
Must be in good standing with the Office of Student Integrity for the duration of employment
Must be able to handle confidential information
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Conditions of Employment Hiring is contingent upon eligibility to work in the United States, proof of eligibility will be required immediately upon acceptance of an offer.
Offers are contingent upon completion of a background investigation, including a criminal background check and, if applicable, a satisfactory credit check.
Applicants may also be subject to a pre‑employment drug test.
