Part of The Barnett Hotel, Seaworthy showcases wild-caught, sustainably harvested oysters from American waters—including the Gulf Coast, East Coast, and West Coast—alongside locally sourced fish and game. The acclaimed beverage program complements the seafood experience with a mix of classic and signature cocktails, as well as a curated selection of beer and wine.The Maître D’ is responsible for overseeing the front-of-house dining room experience, ensuring exceptional guest service, smooth table flow, and professional presentation. This role leads the host team, coordinates reservations and seating, supports servers, and maintains the highest level of hospitality throughout the restaurant.**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS****Education*** High school diploma or equivalent required.* Hospitality or fine dining training preferred.**Experience*** Minimum 2–3 years of restaurant or hotel dining experience.* Fine dining or upscale service experience strongly preferred.* Supervisory or lead front-of-house experience a plus.**Skills and Knowledge*** Exceptional customer service and communication skills.* Strong leadership presence with the ability to guide and motivate front-of-house staff.* Excellent understanding of dining room flow, seating strategies, and guest pacing.* Professional, polished appearance and demeanor.* Ability to remain calm, composed, and gracious under pressure.* Proficiency with reservation systems and POS platforms preferred.* Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.**Job Duties and Responsibilities*** Greet guests warmly and ensure a welcoming, elevated arrival experience.* Oversee reservations, waitlists, and seating charts to optimize table turns and guest flow.* Lead and support the host/hostess team and assist servers during busy periods.* Maintain dining room ambience, cleanliness, and overall presentation.* Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations.* Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring complete satisfaction.* Train hosts and front-of-house staff on service standards, policies, and hospitality practices.* Coordinate special requests, large parties, and VIP guests.* Monitor dining room pacing and adjust seating strategies as needed.* Assist with opening and closing procedures for the dining room.* Perform additional duties as assigned by management.HRI is an Equal Opportunity Employer and provides fair and equal employment opportunity to all employees and applicants regardless of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status or any other protected status prohibited under Federal, State, or local laws.
