About the Role Now Hiring a Lake Manager at Plamann Park for the Summer of 2026!
Looking for a leadership role this summer? We're seeking someone to supervise summer staff, address public concerns or complaints, delegate routine lake maintenance tasks, and ensure cleaning duties are completed through regular checks. You'll also enforce staff dress codes, oversee rule compliance, and maintain a professional and businesslike team environment during working hours. Primary responsibility is to establish a safe and orderly lake atmosphere, oversee all aspects of lake operations and maintenance, supervision of pool personnel, and maintain accurate records.
Lake Manager reports directly to Program Supervisor.
Responsibilities
Responsibility to maintain strong lake employee discipline and a well‑trained staff ready to respond to any lake emergency.
Provide high level of supervision of staff and lake patrons.
Delegate normal lake maintenance (cleaning) by staff and make frequent lake checks to verify cleaning duties are being performed.
Enforce staff dress code and oversee rule enforcement.
Maintain businesslike staff during working hours.
Work with Program Supervisor and Human Resources in enforcing staff discipline (improper behaviors, reprimands) and proper documentation.
Respond to public concerns and complaints in a mature, timely, and friendly manner.
Initiate communication regarding safety concerns to management staff on a daily basis.
Effectively manage point of sale operating system which includes touch screen, product inventory, and credit card and cash transactions.
Maintain daily operations sheets.
Responsible for daily monetary transactions, nightly deposits at the facility, and verify and audit daily revenue reports to ensure deposits are correct.
Maintain adequate lake supplies.
Monitor and order concessions products and supplies when needed and ensure concessions are stocked nightly and when needed.
Prepare food in a safe and clean manner and maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety with food preparation, equipment and dispensers.
Sell and serve concessions and maintain cleanliness.
Monitor Swim Lesson instructors, keep record of swim lesson participants’ pass/fail.
Fill out closing checklist, admissions and concessions sheets on a nightly basis.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years supervisor experience
Concessions/Food Handling experience
Must be 18 years or older
High School Education or equivalent required
American Red Cross Lifeguard certification
Coordinate and oversee overall lake operations, including maintenance during swim hours
Follow guidance from supervisors and implement direction effectively
Strong oral and written communication skills
Sound decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities
Knowledge of lake operations, aquatic safety, and recreational management
Experience supervising, training, and scheduling staff, including lifeguards and concession workers
Leadership skills with the ability to manage team performance
Preparedness for emergencies and ability to manage incidents effectively
Develop, enforce, and maintain policies, safety rules, and procedures
Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive public relations
Environmental awareness, including water quality, weather conditions, and aquatic hazards
Recordkeeping, reporting, and basic computer proficiency
Hours:
Sunday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Hours may vary). Every other weekend required, possible 40+ hours per week.
