Responsibilities include the development and implementation of an aggressive cost-improvement program for assigned commodities, performance of supplier audits to monitor the suitability of current suppliers.
Negotiation of business unit agreements and working closely with both Design and Manufacturing Engineering to develop demand-based supply systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Negotiation of assigned agreements and preparation of required contracts.
Development and implementation of an aggressive cost-reduction program for assigned commodities.
Ensures timely and thorough communication of required information to other business unit.
Develops a material control plan to minimize obsolescence and reduce inventories.
Responsible for the purchasing of global commodities as assigned.
Monitors price trends of raw materials and commodities and recommends sources, timing, and quantity of purchases.
Maintains an accurate database for current and potential suppliers, materials, prices, delivery dates, and inventories.
Obtains and analyzes quotations, issues purchase orders for direct material and expedites deliveries and shipments.
Must be able to successfully manage and execute several complex tasks simultaneously.
Ensures that Company standard procedures are followed in connection with purchases of materials and services.

Education / Experience Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; three to five years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in
