About the Role We are seeking a highly qualified Infant‑Toddler Teacher with experience working with children 2 months old to 2 years old to join our team at Infant‑Toddler Centers in Palo Alto. The Infant‑Toddler Teacher will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children to learn and grow. As a childcare educator, you will develop and implement age‑appropriate curriculum, assess children’s progress, communicate with parents and caregivers, and maintain a clean and organized center, ensuring the safety and well‑being of all children in your care.

Shift: 8 hours, full‑time between 7:30 am and 6:00 pm with a 30‑60 minute unpaid meal break.

Minimum Qualifications

Completion of 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education (ECE), including Core units (Child Development; Child, Family, Community; Curriculum and 3 units of infant development)

Experience working with young children in a classroom setting

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff

Preferred Qualifications

Child Development Permit

Bilingual

Experience working with diverse populations

Experience with Reggio Emilia and/or Play‑Based philosophy

Experience with technology integration in the classroom

Essential Functions

Fosters cooperative behavior through group and individual projects, helping children form satisfying relationships with peers and adults.

Supervises activities such as exploration, group discussions, dramatic play, and broadens children’s understanding of their physical and social environment.

Encourages singing, dancing, rhythmic activities, and art to promote self‑expression, relationships, and appreciation of aesthetic experience; promotes gross‑motor and fine‑motor development as appropriate.

Instructs children in cleanliness and self‑care practices.

Alternates vigorous activity with rest or light activity to avoid over‑stimulation and fatigue.

Observes children to detect signs of ill health or emotional disturbance and evaluates progress.

Communicates significant behaviors to parents through observation, recording, and reporting.

Maintains accurate records of health, behavior, and incidents (including injury charting).

Observes, hears, and responds to children’s needs throughout the center and during off‑site excursions.

Safely lifts 30 pounds from floor to waist level 10–15 times per day.

Responds to a child’s needs up to 30 feet away within 30 seconds without compromising staff safety.

Skills Under general direction, the Infant‑Toddler Teacher supervises children to promote their physical, cognitive, and social development. The teacher participates in the on‑floor program, ensures age‑appropriate activities, implements the curriculum, and collaborates with the teaching team to assess each child's development while maintaining a safe environment for all children at all times.

Additional Requirements

Must be vaccinated for measles and pertussis; must receive annual flu vaccine or submit a signed declination form; must be tested for TB upon hire.

Must complete a pre‑employment physical.

Must complete and pass a fingerprint background clearance check.

Compensation Hourly Wage: $23.98–$30.51
