Introduction:

American Custom Private Security, Inc. is a California for-profit corporation established in April 2008. ACPS provides physical security services to a diverse clientele, including government agencies, call centers, industrial complexes, distribution centers, financial institutions, high‑rise buildings, special events, and parking facilities. Services include access control, commodity and asset control, security consulting, mobile and foot patrols, CCTV and alarm monitoring, and specialized security solutions.

Mandatory Qualifications

Must be able to complete additional training required.

Possess a current California Driver's License with no DMV points (if using company or client vehicle).

Must have state of California guard card registration and/or additional permits.

Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Minimum 18 years of age (21 years of age for some positions).

High school diploma or GED.

Must communicate in English fluently (read, write, and speak).

Prepare clear and concise readable reports.

Excellent communication skills.

Event Security Officer Overview Special event security officers are scheduled for various shifts at fairs, festivals, concerts, receptions, sporting events, and other events held at arenas, fairgrounds, hotels, schools, civic centers, parks, amphitheaters, and stadiums. Events range from small venues to large events with over 1,000 to 50,000+ attendees.

Expected Schedule Most special events occur Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the day and evening. Shifts typically last between 4 and 12 hours at local venues.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Maintain compliance with BSIS certification and training requirements.

Follow company policies and client instructions.

Maintain high visibility at all times to prevent theft and other crimes.

Conduct random and scheduled foot patrols of the venue.

Provide access control by ensuring that only authorized people are on the property. Professionally interact with others.

Conduct detailed observations of people and vehicles on the property.

Provide detailed written reports of activities via mobile device app(s).

Use and maintain company and client equipment.

Alert supervisor or law enforcement for non‑compliant individuals, crime, emergency, or situations outside training and knowledge. Work all hours assigned.

Monitor site conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.

Communicate by use of TrackTik Software for reporting using smart phone, tablet, and/or computer.

Respond to alarms. Notify police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.

Verbally warn violators of rule infractions.

Allow authorized persons to enter property and monitor access points.

Monitor and enforce property removal, as well as deter theft.

Investigate and prepare incident reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.

Maintain professional demeanor and assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous manner.

Job Skills Required

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Active listening skills.

Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively.

Ability to identify escalating conditions and quickly mitigate same.

Good written communications, organizational and time management skills. Able to work both as part of a large team and individually for long periods of time inside and outside.

Environment Indoor workspaces in some cases; outdoor parking and landscaped areas. Temperature ranges from moderate to extreme, by location, time of day, and season.

Physical Job Requirements Standing and walking for long periods. Some sitting and minimal to no stooping or kneeling required. Lifting up to 25 lbs. periodically.
