Additionally, the incumbent ensures appropriate dating of medications for the inpatient and outpatient pharmacies.****CORE JOB FUNCTIONS***** Procures, receives, and administers the inventory of controlled pharmaceuticals, and communicates shortages of medications or changes in stock availability to appropriate pharmacy staff.* Alerts leadership of changes in buying trends, including any unusual use of drugs.* Purchases all pharmaceuticals for the assigned pharmacies and participates in continuous quality improvement.* Receives and verifies shipments from vendors and suppliers.* Keeps abreast of contract changes and prepares vendor shipment returns.* Maintains appropriate inventory levels of drugs and supplies and controls inventory to meet established budgetary constraints.* Coordinates disposal of all expired medication and maintains invoicing for all drug and supply accounts.* Prepares department for annual inventory which includes updating shelf labels, inventory supply forms, and databases.* Carries out rules and regulations pertaining to the professional policies of the department and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations.* Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.******This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.**********CORE QUALIFICATIONS********Education:****Bachelor’s degree, preferred****Certification and Licensing:****Active FL Registered Pharmacy Technician License****Experience:****Minimum 3 year of relevant experienceThe University of Miami offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, tuition remission and more.UHealth-University of Miami Health System, South Florida's only university-based health system, provides leading-edge patient care powered by the ground breaking research and medical education at the Miller School of Medicine.
