Employment Status Notice Any individual hired into an AMU-represented position with a start date on or after September 15 will be classified as an at-will, probationary employee. At the conclusion of the school year, there may be an opportunity to transition to regular employee status.
Responsibilities
Exhibit and uphold Green Dot Public Schools core values
Create a positive and inclusive classroom culture that supports academic rigor and emotional safety
Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned Biology instruction
Use data to inform instructional planning and assess student learning
Facilitate cognitively engaging lessons aligned to Green Dot instructional methodologies
Engage in critical reflection and continuously improve instructional effectiveness
Collaborate within the school site and across the Green Dot network
Build partnerships with families and community stakeholders to support student success in college, leadership, and life
Qualifications The ideal candidate:
Demonstrates a growth mindset and commitment to continuous learning
Possesses strong content knowledge and pedagogical skills
Can plan and deliver instruction that meets diverse student needs
Maintains high standards for execution and accountability
Demonstrates strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills
Exhibits ethical judgment, self-awareness, and professionalism
Is dependable, humble, and committed to Green Dot’s mission and communities
Is able to pass a tuberculosis (TB) test and background check at time of offer
Credential and License Requirements California-Based Educators (by July 2026)
Applicants must meet
one
of the following:
Hold or be eligible for a
California Preliminary or Clear Single Subject Teaching Credential in Biology , or
Be eligible for a
California Single Subject Intern Teaching Credential in Biology
(Intern credential must be earned by July 2026), or
Be eligible for a
Short-Term Staff Permit (STSP)
or
Provisional Internship Permit (PIP)
and hold a valid
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
certification from the
American Heart Association
or the
American Red Cross
Out-of-State or Non-Credentialed Applicants Applicants should review eligibility requirements through the
California Commission on Teacher Credentialing
to determine qualification to teach in California public schools by July 2026.
Credentialed teachers:
$71,085 – $127,985 (based on education and years of experience)
Intern-eligible or non-credentialed teachers:
$62,316 – $63,866
