Job Description
The primary roles are crime and violence prevention, and customer service.
Patrolling the work site via safe vehicle operation up to the full duration of the shift or as otherwise instructed to prevent and detect signs of intrusions and ensure security of all entry points of the property.
Conducting patrol vehicle maintenance including gas refills.
Writing reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, missing equipment, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
Performing access control procedures by monitoring and regulating entrance and departure of site employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
Investigating disturbances and answering alarms.
Circulating among visitors, patrons, or employees to preserve order and protect property through crowd control measures.
Responding to on‑site emergencies by calling local law enforcement or other first responders.
Conducting pat‑down and metal‑detecting search.
Communicating and enforcing applicable law, policy, and codes.
Interacting with colleagues, supervisors, clients, client employees, visitors, and other persons at the work site.
Job offers are for an unarmed security guard position. Employees with a valid BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit and a pepper spray permit qualify for armed security work upon availability of shifts and approval.
Minimum Requirements
Armed Officers must have a California Guard Card (BSIS permit), Firearms Permit (BSIS permit), and a Chemical Agent.
40 hours of BSIS training courses and the most recent annual refresher.
One to two years of experience in high‑end security, military, or law enforcement.
Driving is an essential function of this job; applicants must meet specific MVR requirements. Please contact Human Resources for more information.
A GED or High School Diploma / Transcript & Associate’s Degree or some verifiable college (preferred).
Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Excellent English verbal and written skills.

Cell phone that receives text messages, has internet access, and an email address.
Ownership of a black business suit, white button‑down dress shirt, black tie, belt, socks, dress shoes or shined boots, and a small flashlight.
Availability, Pay & Perks
Armed Security Guards for an overnight position in Oakland, CA.
Schedule: Sun & Mon 11 p‑7 a, Fri 5 p‑10 p.
Security Agents may work 12‑50 hours per week throughout the county, including mandatory weekend nights; full‑time positions after probation.
Pay ranges $27‑$29/hr depending on experience, qualifications, and assignment.
Paid accrued sick leave.
Holiday pay for specific holidays.
