Job Summary
In addition to the responsibilities below, this position is also responsible for assisting the implementation of best practice models; supporting investigations into patient/family/member concerns regarding patient care and services; collaborating with physicians and other health care team members to achieve optimal and safe patient care across the continuum; allocating resources in assigned clinical areas to ensure appropriate assignment and utilization; supervising the use and maintenance of equipment, supplies and medications; ensuring a safe environment for patients and employees; maintaining clinical expertise and providing clinical supervision; delegating tasks and duties that are aligned to scope of practice; and performing clinical duties as required. The role collaborates with Nursing Clinical Practice to ensure assistants and staff provide the highest quality of care and are in compliance with the Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and federal, state, and local requirements.
Essential Responsibilities
Recommend developmental opportunities for others; build collaborative, cross‑functional relationships; solicit and act on performance feedback; provide coaching, mentoring, and training to drive performance improvement; stay current with organizational change and best practices; foster open dialogue and motivation for team collaboration; delegate tasks and decisions appropriately while providing support and guidance.
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the designated work team or unit, ensuring policies and procedures are followed; align team efforts and measure progress; develop work plans to meet priorities and deadlines; resolve escalated issues; identify and recommend improvement opportunities; influence teams to execute in alignment with operational objectives.
Supervise hospital administrative functions: facilitate team meetings and management decisions, identify action items, maintain compliance timelines and financial commitments; manage utilization and productivity; interpret data, take action; supervise cross‑functional activities including workplace and patient safety, labor relations, and quality/risk management; maintain survey readiness; comply with regulatory standards; and meet budget targets.
Manage care delivery operations and programs in a round‑the‑clock environment: support large or complex work streams; supervise data collection; coordinate daily operational activities involving direct patient care; allocate resources; oversee multidisciplinary teams; implement emergency preparedness; monitor and coach teams; align nursing services with cost, quality, and utilization standards.
Lead innovations in operational and technology processes: execute cross‑functional strategic projects; respond to operational escalations; monitor strategic plans for integrated services across the continuum; track performance metrics for project success.
Ensure safe, quality, and standardized care delivery: monitor continuous improvement of clinical practices; ensure regulatory compliance; design and implement systems, processes, and methods to evaluate and improve patient care throughout the department and across the continuum.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum two (2) years of experience in patient care delivery.
Associate degree in Business, Nursing, Health Care, or a directly related field plus at least two (2) years of experience in business operations, clinical health care, or a related field OR three (3) years of experience in business operations, clinical health care, or a related field.
Minimum one (1) year of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
Registered Nurse License (California) required at hire.
Basic Life Support required at hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in related practice area.
