Eligibility

This is not a remote position and requires residency within a reasonable commuting distance to LES in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Job Summary Responsible for coordination and implementation of corporate safety programs. Specific responsibilities include ensuring organizational compliance with applicable regulations; planning and execution of training associated with safety programs; assisting with the development and implementation of departmental programs and procedures; and general coordination and oversight of budgets within the department, including analysis of operating and capital budgets and cost center reporting. Consistent and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
Essential Duties and Core Competencies
Promotes safe work environments, safe work practices, and recommends/monitors corrective actions.
Conducts field visits and inspects work environments for compliance with safety regulations, conducting investigations, development of recommendations for improvements based off risk assessments, and reporting of safety violations and injuries to the appropriate authorities.
Assure LES compliance to regulatory requirements relating to colleague safety by writing policies and procedures that establish required methods of job performance and restrictions to be followed by all supervisors and employees.
Maintain familiarity with federal and state standards relating to workplace safety.
Presides over informational meetings and develops and conducts training on safety programs.
Develop and propose safety-related upgrades and adjustments as needed.
Accountability Holds self and others responsible for goals, outcomes, deadlines, and objectives and follows through on commitments. Takes accountability for delivering on commitments; owns mistakes and uses them as opportunities for learning and development.
Initiative Takes action on theirown without being prompted; handles problems independently; able to resolve issues without relying on extensive help from others; does more than is expected or asked.
Risk Management The identification, analysis, assessment, control, avoidance, minimization, orelimination of unacceptable risks.
Other Skills and Abilities Required
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize requirements.
Knowledge of OSHA, NAFP, NESC, and ANSI standards preferred.
Required Education and/or Experience
Associate’s degree or technical degree in area of assignment, and
Two years of related experience, or
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Experience in a power plant or large production facility and/or in a Transmission, Distribution Substation in a technical craft, operations, mechanical, electrical, I&C, or engineering position, preferred.
Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid driver’s license
National Incident Management System certification, preferred
