Experienced Water Heater Technician Job Description We are seeking an experienced
Water Heater Technician
to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience installing, diagnosing, and repairing both tank and tankless water heaters across multiple brands. This role is perfect for a skilled technician who takes pride in quality workmanship and customer service.
Responsibilities
Install, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair tank and tankless water heaters
Work on all major brands including AO Smith, Rheem/Ruud, Rinnai, American Standard, Navien, and others
Perform system inspections and recommend appropriate repairs or replacements
Diagnose and repair a wide range of general plumbing systems, including:
Repair and replacement of faucets, toilets, sinks, garbage disposals, and fixtures
Leak detection and repair on water supply lines and drain/waste/vent (DWV) systems
Repair and replacement of water lines (copper, PEX, CPVC, PVC)
Drain troubleshooting, minor drain cleaning, and clearing of blockages
Installation and repair of shut-off valves, hose bibs, angle stops, and PRVs
Repair and replacement of sump pumps, ejector pumps, and condensate pumps
Gas piping repairs and appliance connections (where licensed/qualified)
Diagnose and correct low pressure, high pressure, and flow issues
Identify aging or failing plumbing systems and recommend upgrades
Read and interpret basic plumbing drawings and schematics
Ensure all work complies with local plumbing codes and safety standards
Accurately document work performed and clearly explain findings and solutions to customers
Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment
Requirements
Minimum
2 years of experience
working with water heaters
Strong knowledge of both gas and electric systems
Experience with tankless systems preferred
Ability to diagnose issues efficiently and provide effective solutions
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with clean driving record
Strong customer service and communication skills
Compensation & Benefits
