ABOUT THE POSITION Assemble, test, and quality check retrofit control panels for Astec's MINDS and PM3 automation systems. This role builds control panels from start to finish, taking ownership of the complete assembly process from backplate preparation through final testing and documentation.
Key Deliverables
Layout and build retrofit control panels from backplate preparation through final assembly
Test and troubleshoot completed panels to verify functionality before shipment
Conduct quality control checks including continuity testing, I/O verification, and photo documentation
Identify and communicate drawing discrepancies to supervisor or Project Engineer for resolution
Key Activities & Responsibilities
Pull appropriate parts from staged kits to build control panels
Mount DIN rail, wire duct, and components per electrical drawings
Assemble cables and boards
Complete wiring and labeling per drawing specifications
Download programs to PLCs and other components as required
Document completed work with photos per QC standards
Must have a basic understanding of electrical circuits and the ability to read and comprehend blueprints
Participate in panel integration testing when required
Support continuous improvement initiatives for build processes
Follow company policies and procedures at all times
Follow proper safety rules and procedures at all times
Perform other duties as assigned
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent certification required
Minimum of 2 years post high school education, such as trade or vocational school, is preferred
Electrical related associate degree is preferred
Basic understanding of electrical circuits is required
Must have the ability to read and comprehend electrical drawings
Must be able to work satisfactorily as a team member
