Sterling Infrastructure is seeking an IT Business Analyst focused on Data Platforms and AI Engineering to act as a bridge between business teams and IT as we design, implement, and scale AI-driven solutions. This is a 1099 contract position based on‑site in The Woodlands, TX and is ideal for a business analyst who enjoys hands‑on collaboration, practical AI use cases, and turning business needs into working technology.
This role supports AI adoption across the organization by gathering requirements, analyzing processes, supporting implementation, and ensuring solutions align with enterprise standards and real‑world business needs.
Position Description What You'll Do
Partner with business stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze requirements and use cases for AI and data‑driven solutions
Translate business needs into clear functional and technical specifications for development or configuration
Evaluate current systems and workflows to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement
Support implementation of new applications, including testing, documentation, and user training
Collaborate with developers, vendors, and IT teams to ensure solutions meet requirements and enterprise standards
Perform data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting to resolve system or integration issues
Create and maintain process flows, data mappings, and system documentation
Assist with change management, user acceptance testing (UAT), and go‑live support
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned applications or platforms
Provide ongoing user support, reporting, and process optimization
Support planning and design efforts related to systems, data platforms, and infrastructure
Position Requirements Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
25+ years of experience in enterprise applications, IT systems, business automation, data platforms, or AI/ML tools
Experience with OpenAI technologies or generative AI platforms preferred; strong interest in AI adoption required
Working knowledge of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages
Experience with REST APIs, Microsoft 365 integrations, and/or Power Platform tools (Power Automate, Power Apps)
Familiarity with Azure AD, Microsoft Teams, and enterprise security frameworks
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate in person across departments
Ability to analyze business processes and deliver practical, actionable AI solutions
Contract Details
