Currently there are two vacancies, one is for the Tennis Center and the other for Special Events, eligibility list will be used to fill future vacancies that may occur during the life of the list.
What You'll Be Doing Planning and running engaging community programs and events. Handling registration, budgets, and supplies. Supporting of tennis program, manage golf course contracts, facilities, and special events. Engage with community members. Oversee daily operations of parks, facilities, and lead recreational programs. Work closely with staff and volunteers. Promote activities and community events.
What We're Looking For A friendly face of the Parks and Recreation team. Positive and well-organized. Enthusiastic about planning, coordinating, and promoting programs. Knowledgeable in organizing and managing multiple projects. Communicate clearly, follow instructions, and build positive relationships with staff and community.
The Position Under general supervision a Parks and Recreation Coordinator organize, coordinates, oversees and participates in the activities of one or more parks and recreation programs at a community service center or other location; leads/oversees assigned staff and performs related work as required.
Future Salary Increase 3% increase effective July 2026

Qualifications Any combination of training and experience, which would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.
A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Graduation from high school plus two years of study at an accredited college or university towards a degree in Recreation, Business Administration, Public Administration, one of the social sciences or a related field.
Special Requirements A valid Class C California driver's license or the ability to arrange necessary and timely transportation for field travel is required. Employees in this classification will be enrolled in the Department of Motor Vehicles Government Pull Notice Program. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate City needs.
